I'm a 43 year old with a lovely home, three great kids, and a wonderful husband. I have spent a number of years ensuring everyone else was taken care of, and now I need to do something for me. I was thin in high school and my first year of college, where I met my husband. I gained weight through college (the Freshman 15 plus a few), three kids, and now I'm at the point where I'm so unhappy and sick with myself. But I really want to feel good again. This is a big step for me....putting myself out there...becoming 'visible'. This won't be an easy road, but I'm hoping by being reasonable and forgiving myself that I'll make it to my goal. I will practice patience, good choices and most importantly LEARN what works and what doesn't so this becomes a life journey and not just a side trip.

I've had that problem too. Believe it or not, I bought bigger shoes with more room in the toes and that helped.

Small goals....or work toward the big one?
Does anyone set small goals and keep track of them in the site, or does everyone work toward their big one? If you do keep track of the small goals, where do you do that?

Unplanned Hysterectomy!
I just went through a hysterectomy in October, and I feel so much better! Now I'm recovered (DO give yourself time and realize you'll be tired), ready to lose weight, and I just joined today. I'm hopeful that I can get to my target this time. Good luck with your surgery, and go easy on yourself.

After a fat-filled fourth, I'm back on track. I'm shooting to lose 9 pounds by the end of the month...that should be a realistic goal.

It's actually working! I watch what I eat and I exercise, and I lose weight :-). Now, if I can just keep it up.
