HI! I'm 24 years old 4'8" and currently 150lbs. I was always active in sports till high school. I've always eaten junk food and fast food. Up until about a year or so ago I was able to maintain about 115lbs with out trying. Then It seems as though I blew up over night. I am going to blame it on my daily beer consumption. Some may call me an alcoholic, and I will agree, but I am a functioning alcoholic. I work. I have a happy family. I'm happy. My weight gain happened so quickly I had to buy 4 progressivly larger sized jeans in 1 month. My figure doesn't bother me as much as the stretch marks do (I'm using lotions and creams and they kinda work). I took for granted my young metabolism and I suppose now I'm paying for it. I LOVE eating. I love the taste of food, the texture, the smell... everything! I'm hopelessly addicted to all the different food TV shows. The hardest part about dieting for me is limiting how much I eat, not what I eat. I appreciate healthy foods. I can live without red meats. I've never really been one to eat an entire bag of chips at once.

So, for my diet, I am going to limit myself to 1 night of drinking with my friends a week. I'm going to continue to eat and exersize as I usually would. i will record all that do and see how well it works out for me.

Writings on the bathroom wall...
This was a little inspirational to me. I might not ever be the "hot girl" but this what I read on the wall in the ladie's room at the bar.

"LIFE is NOT a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside proclaiming, "WHAT A HELL OF A RIDE!"

If you're miserable on your diet, its not worth it! Life is too short to miserable. Eat what you want when you want just be sensible about it. Yes we all want to lose weight, but unless its a happy life long commitment... it'll never last. You're married to what you eat!

Unsupportive Boyfriend.... sigh.
I completely agree with Jenju! My bf and I have been living together for 3 years. 3 years ago I was about 110lbs. When I first started crying about my weight my bf would nag me about EVERYTHING! "Do you really need those pretzels? Couldn't you walk instead?" He never brought up my weight gain till I did. After 1 big fight and a long talk about "intentions" he doesn't say anything about diet and exersize. He just tells me he's proud of me. He meant to help me all along he just didn't do it in a way that actually helped ME. I had to explain it to him in detail. Eventually we understood each other. Now he walks with me. When he cooks dinner he makes sure there's extra veggies just for me and he doesn't cook with as much fat. He's being more supportive with actions. Which is what I need. Try explain what you want from him as for as support goes.

I'll be your buddy! We seem to have the same "diet plan." I count my calories and try to move more than I consume. The weight loss is slower than "real" diets but I don't think I'll bounce my weight back, at least I hope I won't. I also keep an eye on my carbs but I still eat a cookie when I want one. Also, KUDOS for starting so young! Getting into the habbit of eating better now will make the rest of your life so much easier! I wish I had done the same thing.

I tried to add you as a buddy but my connection isn't working very well.
