At the beginning of 2013 at 256 pounds, I decided enough was enough. The weight had to come off. I started eating healthier even though I didn't know exactly what I was doing. Watching YouTube videos helped out a lot with beginning my weight loss journey. Towards the end of January, I applied to be a Genghis Grill Khauntestant where we were picked to start healthier lifestyles while incorporating one meal from Genghis for 60 days. Even though I didn't win, I still managed to lose about 40 pounds. Throughout 2013 I managed to lose about 90 pounds finally seeing the onederland for the first time since middle school. The end of 2013 proved to be challenging for me because I hit a plateau and my weight was just not budging. When 2014 rolled around I decided that I would start again to lose weight and hit my goal of 150. A few months into 2014 I decided that my life needed a change and I was finally at a weight that I could join the military. I decided to go with the Army and enlisted towards the later part of 2014. My weight however was still up towards the max of my allowable weight limit. At the end of basic training I weight the lowest I have weighed in more than 15 years around 160. However, after basic the weight started to creep back up. I am currently at 177 (says the Army scale) and above my max weight. I am now on a journey to finish my journey and hit my original goal of 150.
