I was never overweight growing up! I was the typical asian, 5'2 - and always under 115lbs and never had to work out - and of course ate all I wanted. I wasn't at all sporty either.. my parents stressed on academics instead of sports.
When I headed into my early 20's.. i started gaining weight easier.. and with my added PCOS problem (where I don't ovulate).. my hormones were all screwed up. From 20 to 23 years old - I flunctuated from 110lbs to 130lbs up and down dependent on exercise. By the time I hit 25 - I sky rocketed to my highest, 155lbs!! YIKES!
You can imagine the demise of my parents.. and I don't blame them. I was at a 34" waist (usually at 26/27") and I was close to being at risk for diabetes.
With struggling with infertility (that comes with PCOS) - it was a crazy few years of working out hard, eating great.. and going from 155lbs to 135lbs and up and down.
This year - like many years, I vow to keep my weight down at 130lbs.. if possible - a healthy 125lbs.
What will be different? Thinking of it as a lifestyle instead of a focus on losing weight.
Adding a MUST 20 mins cardio per day. Adding a MUST for swimming once a week. Adding a MUST for hot yoga once a week.. and implementing weights every other day.
Another MUST - to shop for food every Sunday and make as many meals as I can..
Also - cutting out Bubbletea (apparently a good 400calories per drink).. and cutting out Tim Hortons Ice Capps!! Unfortunately with that cut.. i've found a love for French Vanilla... eeps!!
Slowly but surely!!!
