what did you control yourself from eating today that was sooo bad for you???
M & M 's! Chocolate is the constant craving for me. I have been doing low carb for a year now and have not lost the desire for plain M&M's or dark chocolate. Here at work there is always a supply of M&M's, they are put out for EVERYONE to have and constantly replenished.... when I hear the bag being dumped in the bowl (from across the room), I sit at my desk and go LALALALAALALA so I won't get up and RUN to the bowl...HA!

Christmas Gift alternative ideas please!
I used to make my special "caramel popcorn" every year - each family member got their own batch in a christmas bucket. It was very time consuming as one batch takes an hour in the oven. SO a few years ago we bought each family a hot air popcorn popper and I put all the ingredients with the recipe in the bucket. Now they can make their own (anytime not just at christmas) and I no longer spend the week before christmas tied to my stove!

they holiday season has begun
OMG! someone just put out a tray of cupcakes at work and I DID stop and ponder eating one but so far I haven't given in. I may have to go home early to avoid them though cause I am hungry and have no healthy snacks left to hold me over! YIKES!

Substituting Healthy(ish) Food for Non-Healthy Food
A low carb alternative for pizza is to use a portabella mushroom for the base. It is really good and the perfect size for portion control! I also found a red pepper spread that is low carb and good substitue for red sauce, add some cheese and toppings and bake it like a pizza! my daughter is a very picky eater and she LOVED It (of course mushrooms is one of the 3 vegis she will eat so that helped! haha) Good luck

under 20 with foundation vegis?
Thanks everyone for responding. Good tip about the sugar alcohol net carb calc as I didn't know that the site didn't account for that. I have been resisting giving up the coffee! I am going to try it this week with the increased vegis and see if that increases my weight loss, if not, then next week I will give in and give up the coffee (for the challenge anyway! SMILE!. The book also says to drink 2 cups of broth a day, does anyone do that?
