No cheese of any kind for months
Refined baked goods including breads of all kinds is like desert - once a week at most.
Taking to preparing vegetables, nuts and beans in wok with very little oil and finished with soy sauce - every day.
Power-packed cereal every day - see previous post.
Smoothie ever day includes spinach, chia seeds, banana, frozen strawberries, oat bran, nut milk.
Plus minimum of 40 minutes per day aerobic exercise in 70% to 80% heart rate zone (102 - 122 beats / minute).
I think that I'm finally coming off of plateau - living in the 189 - 190 range for over two months. Dropped two pounds in last two days. I'll settle for 2 pounds per week.
Started out in 40-inch Levi's. Now comfortable in 36" jeans.

It's true that exercising above 70% heart rate impedes the fat-burning process.
Today was another day rowing on San Francisco Bay. But this time I really focused on keeping my HR under 107 which figures out to be 70% of my maximum heart rate (220 - my age (67)) x 70%. Ideal fat burning zone really is 60% - 70%. It is my hope that I'll start seeing more weight-loss each week. And at my age it's really important that I not consumer more than 1400 calories per day. Carbs feed the brain, so it's stupid to cut out carbs completely. But mine come from vegetables, limited fruit, and oatmeal. There are foods consumed on a daily basis.
Beans • onions • sautéed mushrooms • ground flax seed • hemp seed • some kind of frozen berries • 1/2 avocado • 1/4 cup oatmeal • 1/4 cup plain yogurt • 1/2 cup plain kefir • 1 tbsp fish oil, • 2 cups spinach or kale • other bright vegetables • other cruciferous vegetables • walnuts or pistachios. That's the bulk of it. No cheeses...no breads or pastas...no condiments...and while this all sounds boring, it' not. After two months of this, my body is just fine. In a nutshell, I'd say that the Joel Fuhrman Food Theory works for me quite well.
