I'm off to a flying start!

FATSECRET: The only thing that is different this time is the fact that I'm using this programme. I add all of the things I have eaten and am planning to eat and then adjust quantities or delete them completely so that I have the right carb amount. This way my carb intake is much more accurate. I'm finding that I can eat a lot more of certain salad vegetables because they have hardly any Net carbs - GREAT NEWS!

HEADACHE: I don't have any headache at all.

HUNGER: I felt a little hungry yesterday and today but not so much that I needed to fill my belly. Nothing like needing to eat another piece of chocolate.

DRINK: I was a little weak this morning until I had drunk about 24 oz herbal tea and then I just decided to have what I was planning to have for lunch for midmorning brunch instead. I'm satisfyingly full. It's such a rare and nice feeling.

I don't feel very tired today and I was expecting to. Hopefully this will keep up.

WEIGHT: I had been watching my carb intake but as you'll see from my food entry I wasn't being that strict. I upped my exercise last week to a half hour a day of muscle training and did a little more walking and I have lost 3 lbs!!! Already. So happy.

I plan to weigh myself every Sunday morning and possibly during the week too for this first phase of induction.

I did my arms, posture and back workout again yesterday and managed to do everything 5 x 10 reps except for the pressups and plank. My triceps are aching in a good way and I am much more conscious of my posture and pulling y shoulder blades back and down.

Working out everyday is making me feel great. I'm just not 100% sure if I'll like it when I start gaining muscles weight! That's why I'm measuring myself too.

Today I'm eating healthy. I've managed to eat pretty well all week except the occasional biscuit or starburst! But, I'm eating nothing like the amount of sugar I usually would because I've not been to the shop to buy any! Great tip!

I'm clearing out my cupboards tonight and setting one cupboard aside that I'm not allowed to go into. Also, I'm putting together a two weeks diet plan for Induction so that I can do the shopping for that and nothing else. Lots of fish and meat and some veg and cream. At this rate I'm already looking forward to Ongoing Weight Loss and Premaintenance when I can have nuts and berries! Woohoo!

For the next few days I am going to follow Atkins for Life guidlelines with the maximum carb allowance - 100 Net carbs in preparation for Sunday when I start Atkins Induction for two weeks.

I'm staying away from sugar, white flour, processed foods etc. up until Sunday when the challenge begins so that I won't find the first few days so tough.

I'm drinking two litres of herbal tea and maybe some water with a little fresh lemon for variety but I've got such a range of herbal teas in the cupboard I don't think that will bother me.

I've worked out already this morning. I did half an hour on abs, posture and arms and although they feel a little like jelly, I feel good. I'm working up to 5 times 10 reps of everything and I can do some of them already. 50 Crunches are easy. The plank for two minutes is tough.

I've planned out what I'm gonna eat all day and it's looking pretty good. As long as I fill up on fibre I don't feel like snacking in the evening anymore so that's the plan.

I already feel lighter and good for doing something for myself.
