Started the Lose to Win challenge at our local hospital last Wed. I've done fairly well changing how I eat, only one fast food day vs. 5 or 6, was doing good with no soda in the morning until yesterday. . . and then today I got another one. poop! Tomorrow I'll start back to no more soda! Need to get exercise worked into my schedule. About 2 weeks ago, after reading an article about this, I decided I was going to do push ups every day adding one as I can until I can do a lot, lol I don't have a number, just to do them every day. I've read that it is a good exercise not only to build up upper body strength, but your whole body. I have done them every day except 3 and I am at 10, that sounds wussy when I read it, but I'm doing boy push ups (which are sooo hard!) and started at 5, so I am improving! I thought it would be awesome to hit 5% at my next wi. . . that would be 8lbs lost, probably not realistic in 2 weeks. I am down 3.8 right now, so I am excited about that. We'll see what next Wednesday brings :)

Every day I am making the choice to take better care of myself and love myself (thx DFW for the challenge:) and I'm finding, I feel more positive and a little bit better about myself!

Ugh! Got an email today that we will be having overdue employee annual valuations the first week of May. I never feel like these are productive and the last one we had (3 years ago) was extremely stressful as I had taken on all the work of an employee who left and never received a raise. When I asked for one, I was asked why and when I answered with the extra duties I took on I was told work is work. I fought for a raise and ended up getting one, but only about 2% of what I asked for. Usually get a cost of living raise, but the only raises above that I've had to ask for as we don't get anything for performance, which sucks and doesn't motivate me to do more. In the last valuation, they said they'd like for me to become a manager. . . we have 5 employees and 2 partners that are here full time. . who will I manage? I started taking classes to get my QKA certification (which no one else here has), but haven't completed them. Guess I need to get on that. My goal is to take the 3rd test this year. I haven't gotten very far with studying as right now my attitude is why. I passed the first 2 exams and received my ASPPA RPS certificate and got a Congratulations! email. I've had a bad attitude here for the last year and I'll probably have to hear about that. I was really disappointed to get a 2% raise in January. . not even cost of living! I've been here 17 years and have gotten too comfortable to look for something else, maybe I should look though.
Glad I got that rant out :)
