I am going to loose 100 lbs. There is no try in that statement. Why? Well there are lots of reasons, but top on my list is that I want to ride a donkey. In order to ride a donkey to the base of the Grand Canyon and spend the night at Phantom Ranch, you cannot weigh more than 200 lbs. My starting weight on 6/22/14 was 283 lbs.

Cool Condiments?
I have to mix up my foods to keep things fresh and interesting. One thing I have discovered that my family loves is Mollie Katzen's peanut sauce ...what are sauces/condiments that you have found that make meals/veggies more fun and exciting?

Meal Plan
Have you been logging your food and staying under your RDI? I was having a little trouble loosing what I thought I ought to and I lowered my RDI. I also talked with my doctor and she checked my thyroid function and vitamin levels. Turns out I also had a vitamin D defficiency...so I am taking supplements and loosing now.

Feel free to check out my food journal. I find that for me it is easiest when I avoid convenience foods all together. I make myself a smoothie that fills a whole blender each morning with a combination of non-fat yogurt, fruit, protein powder and ice, so it's usually under 400 calories and has enough substance (both volume and protein) to keep me going until lunch time.

I also like to bulk up each of my meals with lots of vegetable options. I usually do one serving of protein, and at least 2 veggies with each meal and do starches occasionally. I find that the secret for me is keeping some variety in my veggies...it also helps keep my kids interested and eating them.

I have a great peanut sauce that I make to go with broccoli, or I make a ranch dip out of non fat plain greek yogurt and ranh dressing mix. Sometimes a huge stir fry that is 90% vegetables and 10% meat is really yummy and fills me up! (even with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, it's really so low calorie)
