Hi I'm Stephanie and I turned 35 this year! I am a mother of 4 and my oldest is 13 my youngest is 3. I've just started running and loving it! I'm 5'4" and looking forward to not look like I'm 6 months pregnant anymore! Hopefully I can get out of these size 12 pants soon!

My first race 10K! Ran it in 1 hour and 7 minutes :) Me on the right and my amazing friend and neighbor that kept me going the whole time!

Anyone have those last 10 pounds to lose?
yes! I've been trying for months to loose 10-15 pounds - I ramped up my exercise and watched everything I ate and the scale did not budge- although I just joined a weight lifting class and had my body fat tested and was surprised that I had less body fat than I thought- so all of the exercise built muscles I never had - hopefully now I'll start seeing a change in my pant size? Stop running!!????

Well, the fact that she told you to stop running without explaining her reasoning is a little weird. But I've read a few articles regarding how exercising can actually make you fat.

This is one of them: http://nymag.com/news/sports/38001/

This article is 5 pages long, so I'll try to summarize it. Basically, every time you exercise, your body releases hormones which will make you feel very hungry. This will cause you to go home and eat more than you usually do. So a lot of people who will rely on exercise alone to lose weight (or lost weight then rely on exercise alone to maintain their weight) will fail. A change in diet is necessary for a person to lose weight, and exercise should compliment that diet.

So I don't know what your diet is like, but as long as you watch what you eat, count your calories, watch your carbs etc etc.. I don't see why running is bad! Specially since it's a stress reliever.

Thanks for that info- now I know for sure that I'm carb sensitive- it's so hard not to eat them though! Every time I eat any type of bread (flour) I swear I gain weight- I've also been running for 3 1/2 months and have barely lost weight....
