When joining MFS back in August 2012 my motivations for starting a Lifestyle Change (NOT a 'diet') were:
1. The first of my daughter's wedding - exactly a year to go. At 1lb a week that's a 4 stone loss.
2. Health: Prevent my Type 2 Diabetes worsening to a point where medication would be required; reduced blood pressure; reduced cholesterol so I can discontinue either or both sets of medication; generally to lose weight.
3. Inspiration after watching the first in new 'Hairy Bikers Dieters' series where they each over lost 3 stone in three months without having 'Diet Food'. As they said in the programme publicity "If we can do it then anyone can do it.
4. Discovering the 'My Fat Secret' App and website.
