I am a 35 year old mortgage sales manager. I am married to my best friend and have three amazing children. My family is my oxygen. I am an extremest. I am either 100% on or 100% off. I have been 100% all over the place the last three years. I have decided that rather than making some crazy new years resolution, I am going to start learning to be extreme at moderation RIGHT NOW. Tomorrow may never come. It is time to take action. I am going to take control of my life and my disease (I have type 2 Diabetes). I am going to show my children what it means to be in control of our destiny and that nothing stands in our way but our own weakness. Every obstacle is a learning experience or an exercise to make our mind, body and spirit stronger. Rather than telling my family to be strong I am going to show them how to be strong. Starting today, there is nothing within reason I can not overcome.

tip
You know, the double edged sword of email, text messaging and yes, forums is that there is no smile, no laughter, no handshake or hug. The words sometimes come across as something totally unintended. I'm pretty new here but I see a lot of really committed people making some serious progress.

I will admit that the actions it takes to lose weight are no rocket science(for most. For some it is much more difficult). We all know what to do. It is the decision or commitment that makes it different for each of us. Whatever or whoever your accountability partner is, thank God for it or them. It is why you are where you are. Take control, and make today what yesterday could have been.

On A Mission To Kick The Crap Out Of Diabetes
A few months ago I made a public commitment to kick the crap out of diabetes. The support I have received from Facebook and others has been awesome.

In just a couple short months I have gone from 5 insulin shots at max dose a day and a handful of other diabetic meds to ZERO diabetic medication. All I take is some protein powder, a multivitamin, some B-12 and some serious healthy eating and exercise.

I owe this all to a group of in person and on line accountability partners. IF anyone would like to follow my Diabetic Journey you can find me on facebook and my blog at wordpress. Every week I post my updated pics, goals, successes and failures.

I need all the support I can get so if you are diabetic or know someone who is then come and support me or get the support you need to start your own journey.

Are you willing to do what it takes to make today the day yesterday could have been?

Looking some kind words to get moving
Baby Girl,

My weight has been a roller coaster at best since I was about 25. In the last 5 years I found out I am Diabetic. That kind of made the yo-yo worse. It gave me a much bigger excuse to get depressed and give up.

When I started looking back at my life and the times I was in the best shape, it was times that I had friends that I worked out with. We shared the same goals. More importantly, we helped each other hold ourselves accountable.

I am now on track to be healthier than ever. I am off the insulin shots (was up to 5 a day)and am on a mission to help as many others get there as I can. If I can do it so can you.

The best advice I have is three things. 1. Find as many accountability partners as you can and be assertive. That's right, actually hold each other accountable. 2. Try to simplify things as much as you can. An example would be pre-hard boil enough eggs for you to put two in a zip lock bag for each morning as you head out the door. there are many ideas like this to make life easier. Life happens every day. You can not let it get in the way of your goals. 3. Take minigirl's advice. You have to have goals. you also have to have a plan. A goal without a plan is nothing more than a dream.

Best of luck!!!
