Hi I'm 30yrs old and tired of feeling unhappy with how I look. I'd like to lose 25lb minimum, but my goal is 30-35lb. I gained most of the weight in one year from stress and have been unable to lose it, mainly because I havent had the intense motivation needed to do so. However, I am very determined now, I want to feel good when I look in the mirror. I want to lose some if not all my weight by my next birthday (7/20), which is a reasonable 1 lb a week. here I go!

What is better for losing weight: weightlifting or jogging?
Weights over cardio, but to lose the most the fastest, do both. Example, go on goodle and check out a picture of a sprinter and a marathon runner. sprinters do shorter periods at high bursts and build muscle. marathon runners do more cardio longer and at a steady pace. I was amazed the first time my friend, who owns a gym and is a guru of working out (hes been all over as a speaker for getting 6-pack abs and working out), told me to google that. never realized there was such a difference. But the best is to do both to lose and become fit. Good luck!

Turning 50 and want to feel great about myself again
I gained about 20 in one year, 3 years ago from stress. its sad how easy it goes on and how hard it is to take it back off. good luck!

Count me in if you want me as a friend! I joined a while ago but havent made a good effort, work kept getting in the way, but for the new year Im tired of not liking how I look and how I feel! I use to work out a lot but have found it difficult the older I get. I am looking to try to lose 30 pounds by my birthday at the end of july, which is a reasonable 1 pound a week. best of luck to both of us!
