Exercise Entry
I'm not sure how they don't add up... that is FS's estimate of the total calories expended in a 24 hour period, not just your exercise specifically. It includes sleeping and resting as well as exercise.

Are you saying that the number at the top is not equal to the sum of all your activities?

I fill up 5 water bottles and set them on my desk, putting a different flavor in each one. I keep a straw in the water and sip on it without thinking too much about it.

When I have to go to the bathroom (which is often!) I go to the furthest away bathroom in the building (up 4 flights of stairs) and take the stairs back down as well.

5-6 stair climbs a day really gives a workout.

diet coke
Wondering about this, I did some research. There is no conclusive evidence that Diet Coke has any affect on your diet, unless you think (as some researchers assume) that drinking Diet Coke cancels any other calories you are eating.

(I think that is a ridiculous assumption and there is no research to back up the idea that people think diet drinks mean they can eat whatever they want. There's not even a survey to go on- it's pure guesstimation that fat people must be that stupid.)

One of the articles is even written by a woman who says you should stop drinking diet sodas because "they may be bad" but admits on her own blog that she drinks them daily.

If drinking a diet soda causes you to crave sweets, you should definitely find a way to stop drinking them.

I know for me, they are the one sweet thing I look forward to in my restrictive diet and they satisfy the need for something that "feels" indulgent. Drinking a diet coke does not make me crave a chocolate bar. I don't feel "fooled" into wanting more food by drinking one.

If they work for you, drink 'em! If you believe diet sodas are causing problems for you, stop drinking them.
