My baby was on a sleep strike yesterday. I got some sleep last night but not much. At least he is happy. I tried all the things yesterday. I even packed both the kids in the van and drove around town for almost an hour to get him asleep. He woke up before I could even lift his car seat out of the car.....

As tired as I am and as imperfect as my body is right now. I wouldn't trade my kids in for anything, not even the perfect body. I love being a mom.

When my daughter asked me if I liked my belly I could honestly tell her that "I love that it brought you and your brother into the world." I make a great effort not to pass down my body insecurities to my daughter. I am pretty sure that the only person who convinced my my own mother was not the most beautiful woman in the world was her, by the way she constantly dieted and put herself down. I don't want to do that to my daughter.

I'm not too worried about losing "only 2 lbs" because of how many inches in bloat I have lost. My friend, whom I haven't seen for just a week or two noticed immediately. She said "you look like you have lost weight, don't look pregnant any more!" LOL! She is a good friend of mine and we both struggle with weight, so I don't get offended if she says that. We have been friends for over 20 years!

In the big picture, 2 lbs is pretty good considering the scale hasn't budged for MONTHS. I am eager to get below 200, but that is just a number in my mind. I feel a lot better, I have more energy, despite my lack of sleep. I have fewer cravings.

I got this AMAZING raw cocoa powder on Amazon. I used it to make chocolate whipped coconut cream. I froze it in reusable push-pop containers. It is so delicious! Plus the raw chocolate is high in antioxidants and nutrients, as well as the coconut milk (from the can, not the box). It is my daily treat and it is divine!

I couldn't believe how many inches I lost this week just going dairy free and grain free. (2" from my waist, 3" from my belly and 3" from my hips!! Oh, yea, and 1/2" from each of my thighs!) That is so encouraging. I have never done this without cutting sugar completely. I don't eat candy but I do eat some fruit and my almond milk has some sugar in it. I reduce it for sure but since I can't have splenda, I just do what I can.

I feel great and I'm not feeling hungry all the time any more. It really matters WHAT you eat. You just have to find the right combination for you. Only time will tell if this is my solution, but so far so good. I have more energy and I haven't had to take my allergy meds.

I have been making blended vegetable soup for my 7mo old. I put baby rice cereal and blended turkey in it for my baby and cream of rice, turkey and a bit of parmesan for my 3YO. They both love it. I am making more today. I put green onion tops because they are easier to digest than yellow or red onions. I put chard, carrots, celery, zucchini, green beans and a clove of garlic. After it cooks for 30 minutes I let it cool, then I process it in the food processor. I was using the blender but sometimes the green bean fibers don't get processed out enough. I then put it through a wide strainer to get out the bigger strings of celery or green beans. I freeze some in ice cube trays, but we have been going through it in a hurry. It is a great way to get their vegetables in. My mom taught me to do this, she is Italian. I am so grateful for her teaching me how to cook. I actually like the soup just plain, myself. It is so flavorful!

I made paleo "corn" dogs last night, as well as gluten-free ones for the others in the family. We have movie night once a week and I like to cook something fun that's not too messy. My husband tried both and he said they were yummy. I wasn't a huge fan of the paleo ones made with sweet potato. I think I'm going to try to find another recipe. I ate a lot of fresh vegetables with them. They weren't bad. I might try again with the oil at a lower temp. The ones that were cooked right on the outside were kind of moist on the inside so I'm not sure if they were fully cooked. The ones that were cooked on the inside were slightly overcooked on the outside.

This morning I made paleo waffles. The base was eggs, almond butter, mashed banana and pureed apple (I used unsweetened apple sauce). My husband and I enjoyed them. I think I am still detoxing a bit, but feeling better.
