I am 45 years old and have always been active until two years ago when i had an accident at work. Since the accident i have had four major surgeries, and my activity level had dropped a great deal. I had always maintained a weight of around 140 lb.'s until the accident and now i continue to gain weight.
I love walking, running and cardio workout's, my goal is to get back into the 140 range and lower my BMI.

Well i think everyone has interesting view's on the different diet's and what is recommended, i do think it is an individual thing as each person's has a different way of exercising, eating and daily routine's. I will do more research on all the different ways i can battle my high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
I do love vegetables and i do love seafood. I have not eaten red meat in over 20 years so that would be out of the question and i would rather eat chicken instead of pork, but i do know that is pork is much healthier than it was in past.

I think with research and tweaking my diet, with the help of everyone's info and input i will get there. I will do my research and then start my new journey of a better way to eat and control these things.

Keep giving me tips as i am willing to take them..

Thank you all for the great information and advice, i will take these and do some more research to see what i can do to remove the cholesterol from my diet. @Christinewis What is the Ketogenic diet?... I am limited in some diet's as i do not eat red meat and tried pork in my diet this week for the first time in month's. I do love fish and chicken though.

@ Kishlette I read the article and it has food's that i like to eat and some that are already in my diet, and as part of my daily intake. Thanks for the info i might try to switch things up a bit with my diet.

Thanks for the responses and idea's. I am going to stay on the statins, but keep an eye on my diet, low sodium, low sugar and egg whites if i want that. I am going to make sure i have plenty of greens and grill my proteins.
I will stay away from egg yolks and other foods that will raise my cholesterol, as the high cholesterol runs in the family i will keep exercising and watching my diet.
