Hello,

Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I want to make it better. Over the last year, I have been progressively gaining weight after years ofmaintaining a fairly consistent weight (140-145).

I attribute this gain to a number of factors:
1) I drink way too much red wine and way too often (1/2 to a bottle per day).

2) I seem to crave sugar way more than I used to. This has translated into increased intake of carbohydrates: tortillas, pasta, and crackers mostly.

3)I have entered perimenopause and have ascertained that I am experiencing lower estrogen, lower testerone and lower progesterone and a slower thyroid.

4) Lastly, I used to be quite physically active, but due to a number of joint related issues (plantar fascia, osteoarthristis or basic back, knee and hip pain) I find it more difficult.

To say that I am frustrated is an understatement. I truly want to change and become healthier. I've recently been reading "Releasing the Power of the Female Brain: Supercharging Yours for Better Health, Energy, Mood, Focus, and Sex". I do believe there is a direct correlation to our brain and its directives to our organs and hormone related functions, and that we can improve most of these malfunctions and under performaning functions through proper nutrition, regular exercise and diet.

However, to state that I have the resolve on my own to give up wine, dairy and wheat altogether and commit to at least walking 30 - 45 minutes every day is an out and out lie. I NEED HELP and support.

Therefore, I turn to you dear members...be my comrades in this battle, won't you?

Cheers,
Renee
