I'm 33 and have been overweight forever. The lowest I've been as an adult was 175lbs. I have done most diets and do have success, but when I reach a plateau I normally slack off and eventually quit, which then brings the weight back. I have 3 wonderful stepchildren and just want to not only have more energy to keep up with them, but I do want a child of my own in the next few years, and I want to be healthy for that. Probably my biggest problem is I HATE HATE HATE vegetables and I LOVE sugar :)
Since joining FS I've lost over 30 lbs and have started eating (but still not really liking) veggies and I did my first 5K run last fall. But since then I have been at that 'plateau' stage and getting discouraged so I am adding the following GOALS to help keep me motivated:
GOAL #1: 220 lbs - get new dress I REALLY want
GOAL #2: 210 lbs - new shoes AND clothes
GOAL #3: 200 lbs - weekend trip w/hubby
GOAL #4: 180 lbs - more clothes and shoes
GOAL #5: 169 lbs - would no longer be considered 'OBESE' ... I am still thinking of a GOOD reward for this one!!
GOAL #6: 160 lbs - BEACH TRIP -even if its during the winter :D
GOAL #7: 141 lbs - would be considered NORMAL BMI .... I need to PARTY for that one.. a pool party with me in a bikini!
