3000 Calories? Really?!?
IDK. I was in a weight loss trial where they had to "maintain" my weight for the first week or so, and they had me eating 2200 Cals TO MAINTAIN @ 272lbs. My normal intake is around 1200-1500, and my recommended for losing is 2000.
It's just a generalized chart based on your weight and not by your body type or metabolism - which are the two things that actually matter.
