Hi all. I have been reading different posts here and what works for some may not work for you and the more overweight you are the faster you will lose.

I started off at 260 and now at 195. I never counted calories that is why I was surprised to see some of you talking about that and that there is a calorie counter here. The only thing I did was eat as much as I wanted and eat plenty of things with fat, such as ham, bacon, etc. I made sure I stayed under 20g of carbs a day and I have went from a belt size of 42 to a 32. It took about 4 months for me.

What I have read and everywhere they say different things is you need to eat a lot of non carb foods. Do not worry about calorie intake, just read labels on non meats, eggs, cheese etc such as ketchup, bbq sauce, salad dressings and keep under 20g carbs and keep yourself full and satisfied.

A couple tips that worked for me is drink diet sodas, make sure it's not with the aspartame and that it is splenda or sucralose as a sweetener because the aspartame while it says no grams of carbs it tricks your body into thinking you haven't been under 20 carbs unlike the splenda which is derived from real sugar but processed in a way to stay at 0 carbs and tell your brain you are at 20 carbs or less which keeps you in Ketosis. I am not saying the zero calories soda with aspartame won't allow you to lose weight but it is not nearly as fast.

If you say eat a thanksgiving dinner and all the carbs that go with it, don't think you will have to weight a week or 14 days or whatever it was when you started the induction phase because it takes just 3 days to get back into Ketosis mode.

Good luck to all!

Phil

My weight loss adventure!
I also wanted to add that I had blood tests done to make sure my cholesterol, lipids, etc weren't too high because they were before I started and they dropped significantly to a normal level!
