I turned 60 on September 7th. Had a lumbar laminectomy July 8th. Still recovering, but I believe I have turned the corner in that regard. Well on the way now to the possibility of being painfree. Anyway, I am going gungho on this calorie counting because I know that's the only way I can most certainly lose weight. I want to lose it, at least 50 pounds eventually, but right now, 20 pounds would make my daily life better,I want to lose it to take the pressure off my lower back (I have a really big tummy,luckily I'm tall so it doesn't look too bad, but it is bad)and my knees. Arthritis, etc. Plus, I want to look nicer in my clothes. So,hip hip hurrah! I'm here to stay. This rotten weight is going away.I live in Washington State on the west coast of America in a lovely forested suburb by a lake. I have a super husband who retired last year from Boeing Aircraft, and I have two great kids, both grown and making their way in the world. A daughter and a son. And a dear Mother who lives with my husband and me.
