it seems like the last several entries have been " this is a really key time" or something like that.

well, i gotta say it again... i really need to get with the program again.

Probably the most concerning issue is that i stopped writing down what I eat. My excuse started out that i was "too busy" ,,, and then i kept saying "I'm already behind on entering what ive eaten, no need to write this down either... ill catch up tonight" and then that snowballed and the next thing i know its been nearly a week since ive written anything down. the worst part is its soooo easy. i have the app right on my phone, and a few clicks is all it takes. and, i have dieted a few times in my life and i will tell anyone that,,, for me, the number one best thing you can do to improve your eating habits is to right down (or type in) everything you eat.

and, once i got away from "enter everything that goes into your mouth" i slwoly started slipping back into bad snacking habits: eating a handful of cereal every now and then, loading up on things i like (and which are not bad for you in small quantities like ffyogurt, skinnycows, cereal, etc), etc i need to remind myself that those things are what got me to 253 lbs and high blood pressure, etc.

i also think that i can still improve my exercise program. i need to make sure that as i am losing weight that i also tone muscles. right now my main exercise is coaching baseball, which is a nice start... i get some running in. and pitching batting practice is a pretty good workout, and hittingg groundballs is okay. but i think that pretty soon i need to get on some type of workout regime if i really intend to reach all my goals (and I do).

So, i need to remind myself why i started this in the first place
* I was obese - 253 lbs seventyfive pounds overweight
* i had serious health issues, like high blood pressure, high sugar levels, etc
* I was going down a road that really could have led to a very sickly old age... or none at all. I dont want that. i want to live a long and healthy life
* my clothes didnt fit and i felt "gross"
* I was setting a bad example for my kids and for my baseball players
* because of 10 years of bad eating habits,, i am having to endure 6 months or so of a 1400 calorie diet. when i get down to my goal weight, it will be sooo nice to be able to eat 400 to 600 more calories a day and also have a guilt free day once a week or so. but, it will take a very long time to get to 178 (if ever) if i dont get back on track

I CAN do this
I MUST do this
I WILL do this

here's how:

1) record everything i eat
2) limit quantities of things like ffyogurt, skinny cow, etc. one serving per day at the most. if you cant stick with it... maybe we need to just stop eating these thigns altogether?
3) stick to 1400 calories per day. if you go a little over one day... make up for it the next day. 9,800 calories per week... no exceptions. that still gives you a couple hundred calories per day for things like skinnycow, ffyogurt , etc. DO NOT use up calories on empty things.
4) 35 g fiber, 70 g protein, lots of veggies, 3 fruits (apple, orange, and one other)

okay? okay. DO IT
