THIRTY NINE YEARS OLD (how did that happen?) and yo-yoing the same extra weight. In my 20s it was 15lbs. Early 30s was 20lbs. The last couple years has crept to an extra 25. I want my weight set point to be 160 (high end of normal BMI). I flirted with that number before but could never maintain it. And now I have more motivation to achieve and maintain a lower weight through better eating habits: asthma & psoriasis. An elimination diet revealed that I am sensitive to alcohol, nightshades, gluten, dairy and sometimes eggs. When I cut those items out of my daily routine early in 2017, the weight FELL off despite plenty of carbs (sweet potatoes,fruits) and fat(coconut oil, avocados) and my symptoms completely subsided. So now I personally can connect the dots between inflammation and weight. But as with every other 'diet' I've tried, I slip back into old habits once I get close to my goal. The only difference this year is that the old habits affect more than the fit of my jeans and I'm back to fighting asthma more frequently and using nutrigena tgel every day. Ugh.

Anywhoo - it's November 2017 and I am back on the wagon. 16:8 for now, maybe 5:2 when it starts to stall, and no dairy or gluten. Booze, nightshades, eggs, red meat RARELY or extreme moderation.
