I am a 54 year old married mother of one 15 year old daughter. I live in Bear, Delaware.
I have struggled with my weight for most of the past 30+ years. At one point in time I lost over 100 pounds but over the course of time regained the weight and a few more pounds. I have tried lots of diets and they simply do not work. I am tired of this roller coaster. I realize that it is up to me to change my eating habits and this is not something you do for a couple months. This needs to be a lifetime commitment.
Well 2012 threw me another curve ball when in January I was told that I had lung cancer and in February I underwent surgery to remove a mass in my lung. Amazingly, it was not cancer but a fungal infection instead. So for the past six months I have been slowly returning to better health. Thank God!
So here I am in September 2012 starting back to Fat Secret and I am so glad to be here. I am taking back my life. I have never been this focused or determined in my life to get this weight off and to get healthy. It is up to me!
Started January 1, 2010: 240 pounds ("Extremely Obese" - BMI 46.9)
Restarted November 8, 2010: 220 pounds ("Extremely Obese" - BMI 43.0)
Stopped in April, 2011 after losing 53 lbs and reached 187 lbs for the first time in a long time.
Regained 33 pounds between April 2011 and September, 2012
Restarted September, 16, 2012: 216 pounds. Goal weight 140 lbs.
Recommitment and goals:
Goal #1: Restart diet and exercise plan in September 16, 2012. Weighed in 216 lbs.
Goal #2: Lose 16 lbs by the November 15th; add walking program 3x per week (200 lbs); celebrate!
Goal #3: Lose 26 lbs by the end of December; add weights and other forms of exercise (190 lbs); celebrate!
Goal #4: Lose 56 lbs by the end of March; keep the exercise going (160 lbs.); celebrate!
Goal# 5: Lose 76 lbs and reach my goal by my birthday - Celebrate!!!!
Got to make good choices and get moving.!
