I am a 57year old married mother of one 18 year old daughter. I live in Bear, Delaware.
I have struggled with my weight for most of the past 30+ years. At one point in time I lost over 100 pounds but over the course of time regained the weight and a few more pounds. I have tried lots of diets and they simply do not work. I am tired of this roller coaster. I realize that it is up to me to change my eating habits and this is not something you do for a couple months. This needs to be a lifetime commitment.
The past several years have been a struggle. In 2012. Life threw me another curve ball when I was told that I had lung cancer. Shortly thereafter I underwent surgery to remove a mass in my lung. Amazingly, it was not cancer but a fungal infection instead. I took me about a year to get back to feeling like myself. Over the past two years, my husband had several serious health issues (shingles, pneumonia, fractured thoracic spine, blood clot in his heart and a fractured hip). It is really very hard for me to put myself first especially when it comes to my family. My husband is slowly getting back to good health Thank God! I also have an eighteen year old daughter. For the past year, I have also been focused on her with college search after college search. So happy to be part of the process and happy she is pursuing her dreams. NOW ITS MY TURN!
So here I am again in May 2015 and I am so glad to be here. I am taking back my life. I have never been this focused or determined in my life to get this weight off and to get healthy. It is up to me!
Recommitment and goals:
Goal #1: Restart diet and walking plan on May 4th. Weighed in 230lbs. Goal 150lbs.
Goal #2: Lose first 15 lbs in 30 days; work up to 10,000 steps per day.
Got to make good choices and get moving.!
