40 year old male, stay at home dad with triplet 3 year old boys. Started putting on weight after quitting my job, and again after I injured my knee around Christmas last year. In March I had a blood clot in my leg and only recently have been able to move around without any pain or discomfort. I have been doing a lot of reading trying to find the best solution for my weight loss and strength training. reddit.com/r/loseit and reddit.com/r/fitness have been invaluable sources of information and support. I am doing a low fat, low carb, high protein diet. No bread, soda, chips, sweets...trying to avoid anything processed or sweet. In my first week I have lost almost 10 pounds which is ridiculous, and I am going to tweak my diet as necessary. I am not starving myself, rather eating lots of greens, grilled chicken, egg whites, and water. I have noticed that my energy level has dropped, so I will need to find a fix for that.
