performance: gaining 0.1 lb a week

I am 31 years old, married with no children. I found out recently that my cholesterol is high. My doctor gave me some nutrition information, but it didn't have any real guidance. My boss and office manager (husband & wife) have been on the South Beach Diet for a while, so I borrowed their book to read about it. It sounded like the easiest diet for me to follow with my hectic life (I'm an attorney). So, I'm going to give it a try.

Need some help...
I have been on the South Beach Diet for almost 10 months and I have lost 30 pounds. I know I look better and feel great. However, during the last couple of months, I seem to have hit a plateau. I have about 17 pounds left to go and I am not sure what to do to get it off. I have not changed what I eat (i.e. I am not cheating), but I have started exercising the last few months. My clothes feel looser, but I cannot really see the weight coming off. Does anyone have any suggestions to get my last few pounds to come off?

Desserts
I started the South Beach Diet in August 2007. I like ricotta cheese, but I did not like the desserts. What I did was substituted fat free plain yogurt for the ricotta cheese in the "creme" recipes and it worked pretty well. If you like the idea, but not the ricotta cheese, maybe you will like the yogurt instead. Good Luck!

food for thought
I have been on SBD for 6 months. I have concentrated on SBD friendly foods and not calorie counting and I have lost 27.5 pounds.

The South Beach Diet works
I originally started the diet 3 months ago because I was told my cholesterol was high. I went back to the doctor this week to have my blood rechecked. My cholesterol when down 68 points. It's still a little high, but I'm certainly on the right track. Plus, being down 20 pounds is a nice extra benefit. Good luck with your diets everyone! Smile
