I am a 33 years old. I am married and I have two children. My struggles with weight loss began in 1997, I had just had my daughter at the end of ’96 and after that the rollercoaster ride began. The first time I joined WW, I lost 42 lbs. In 2004, I had my son and the weight began creeping up again, so another round with WW got me within 10 lbs of my personal goal. Then I fell away and self-maintained within of few lbs of that weight for almost two years. Today I find myself 9 lbs heavier than the beginning of this year. Yikes! For those who have struggled, you can imagine how quickly that 9lbs can become 20! I can’t let that happen, so… here I am, eager to be motivated and inspired, eager to get to my elusive goal weight!

Does anyone know how much weight is safe to lose in a week?
I have to agree with the majority of the responses, 1-2 pounds per week is the safest, best way to lose. Often when you lose more, it happens to be just water weight and can be quickly gained back. I know that is very frustrating, one week having a good loss only to find it returns the following week. I encourage anyone to be content to lose 1-2 lbs per week.
