When I got back from Disney World in February, I weighed in at the heaviest I've ever been, 220lbs (too much food and beer... but it was fun). I actually only put on about 5lbs there but I don't like being this heavy so I decided to try something that worked for me in the past. That's recording my intake and tracking my calories. I actually downloaded an application on my cell phone where I can enter the items I eat and it syncs to FatSecret. It should make it easy for me to keep up with it. I'm very glad I stumbled onto this site using the application on my phone and look forward to meeting a few of you here for support.

Mitzy, I've been religious with this since joining less than a month ago. I've lost 13lbs so far. That's actually faster than I anticipated loosing weight. Each pound of body weight you loose means you have to burn 3500 calories more than you take in. Your not going to loose a pound a day or maybe not even a pound a week. You have to be Honest when entering your information (Food & Exercise). You want to have your Net (kcal) on the Diet Calendar GREEN. This means your burning more than your taking in.
So to answer your question "Does this really work?" YES but only if you religiously enter EVERYTHING you eat and are realistic with what you enter for your exercise. The other aspect of having this work for you is that you have to CHANGE. If you just keep eating and doing what you have been but now recording it, your not going to loose weight. Eat Smart, Get Active, Be Honest. Good Luck To You.
