I'm on my second week of trying a different path to weight loss. In December I decided to get serious and eat healthy by counting calories, trying to stay under 1,500 per day. In January I joined a gym and work out at least 3 times a week and walk around the lake the other days. Probably exercise at least 6 days out of the week for an hour. I lost about 16-lbs doing this, then was at a standstill and unmotivated.

A week ago Sunday I joined an online nutrition program (called Rise) which I saw in the Oprah Magazine. You can sign up for a week or a month. I signed up for a month at a cost of $48. You log in everything you eat in a day, and take a photo of it, and a registered dietitian reviews your meals and gives you helpful hints and how to eat healthier to achieve your goals. It's been a week now, and because I am photographing my food and being truthful about everything I eat, I am definitely eating good. When I want something unhealthy, I think "what will my dietician think of this?" I have lost 4.5-lbs more, without counting calories. But I am logging the calories on Fatsecret, so I am "counting calories", just not thinking about it before I eat and not so fanatical about weighting and measuring.
