My height is 5 8' and age is 27. My weight shot to ~95 kg a few months back (sept 2011) which was quite disappointing. Though I do not look really "fat" for such a weight as my bone structure is quite well framed with nice muscle content. I look rather stocky.
I joined gym in Jan 2012. I have cut my diet to half and added about 300-400 kcal workout in my routine of 4 times a week. On weekends I go for an hour of heated pool swimming. Though its a beginning of a mammoth mission I already feel better, relaxed, focused and healthy.
I made a resolution to be fit this year and lose ~50 pounds by the year end and reach a healthy weight zone. I feel that losing weight of such measure is more of a psychological challenge than a physical. The body knows how to adapt to the rigorous exercises and lengthy workouts, but at the end its the mind that keeps you willing and committed.
FatSecret is being quite a support in the process. Its always good to have your progress documented, it motivates and keep you focused. In addition to it I found a lot of support from my buddies who inspire me a lot.
I have kept a realistic goal for myself, of 164 lbs. It translates to 75 Kg and BMI of 24.9. This is just under the "fit" category. If I find enough encouragement to go further, I would then go for 154 lbs which is 70 Kgs. Keeping in my broad build, 154-164 lbs range suits me. My Goals are:
Phase 1 - Just lose weight
1. 198 lbs - Achieved on 02 Feb 2012
2. 187 lbs
3. 176 lbs
4. 164 lbs
Phase 2 - Lose further weight and build core strength and stamina
5. 154 lbs
