Calculating Calories for Bread Machine Bread
I make my own bread in my beloved Panasonic breadmaker because I find store bread far too sweet. I prefer the french bread recipe which is just flour, salt, yeast, butter and water. But I'm not sure how to figure out the calorie and nutrient counts, since it will not be as simple as just the base ingredients. The Panasonic's french bread recipe runs for 6 hours because of the long rise cycles (hence no need for added sugar). But the yeast is breaking down starch in the flour for food, and I don't know how that affects the final product's calorie count. Does anyone have any ideas?
