My name is Kathy and I am a 41 year old mother of 3 teens ages 14,15,and 16! YEP...you read that right! So, even though I can't blame my obesity on baby fat,( cuz they are older now) I can tell you that having a baby in 94,95, and 96 took a major toll on my body! I was diagnosed with High BP about 4 years ago and then with Type 2 Diabetes about 3 years ago. My doctor had to keep raising my meds, placing me on 2 meds for each disease, and then maxing them to their fullest dosage, cuz I wasn't taking control of my life...UNTIL...this past July 15, she told me that if I didn't take charge of my body that I would be placed on insulin. What a wake up call! Then my husband found FatSecret on his Droid as an App and the I put it on my phone and then came to the website! I can truly say that FatSecret is saving my life! I hope to be an encouragement to anyone who needs it!

Diabetic recipes that REALLY are low carb!
Being a Type II Diabetic for 5 years I have had my ups and downs and that's not just in my sugar levels! Everybody always says that you have to make it a lifestyle and not a diet....well I got so sick of hearing that from people who were born with great genes, skinny, and no medical problems! So, I decided to do my research and boy have I done my research!! I have come up with some recipes and tricks to help diabetics or those just wanting to cut carbs.

I will randomly post recipes that I have came up with on my own that have been tested, changed, and retested. Today's recipe will be what I had for breakfast this morning. I hope you all look for them and enjoy them!!!

EASY SCRAMBLE

1 TBSP of frozen chopped onions (4 calories / 1 carb)
1 TBSP of frozen chopped green peppers (2 calories / .43 carbs)
6 TBSP of Eggbeaters WHITES (50 calories / 0 carbs)
2 links of Brown n Serve sausage ( 90 calories / 1 carb)

Lightly spray a frying pan with non-stick spray. (0 calories / 0 carbs)
Chop the sausage links into very small bite size pieces and toss into the hot pan along with the onions and green peppers. Cook until tender and lightly browned. Pour the Eggbeaters into the pan and mix with the other ingredients. Stir until almost throughly cooked then spread the mixture evenly in the pan and place a lid on the pan. Cooked until firm and enjoy!!!

A grand total of 146 Calories and 2.43 Carbs so you can add more eggs if you want to increase your calorie intake to ward off hunger before lunch...protein will do that for you!

AGAIN....because the ingredients are ALL convenient items this will cook and be ready to eat within minutes!! You know that if you had to chop the onions and green peppers on a busy crazy morning you wouldn't do it....I know that I didn't!! PLUS...the frozen items last longer than the fresh and at a TBSP at a time they will last you quite awhile for a $1.29 bag!!

I'm loving the loss but hating how sick I felt yesterday and still yet today. I think I have a stomach bug or food poisoning! Ugh!
