I've always been heavy, I weighed 170 lbs when I got married at 18. a few years later, I was up to 215 lbs. I went on a crash diet with pills and starving and lots of tai-bo (haha) and got all the way back down to 175 lbs, when I found out I was pregnant! I didn't gain any weight, (well, 6 lbs) during my pregnancy, but after my daughter was born, i became very sedentary, and got up to 235 lbs in a few years. The last 25 lbs has just been creeping up on me for the past 5 years or so. I'm 32 now, and I recently got my masters degree in architecture, and I have a have a job I really like, and my family is very stable and supportive, I have an excellent love life... essentially, I have reached every goal I have set in life, except for that pesky one about being more healthy...
I am hoping to get the weight off just by portion control and activity. I would like to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet, but I believe that cheese and bread add greatly to my quality of life ;-) everything in MODERATION! I have a very cheap elliptical machine that I use for cardio, and I am enjoying a WII fit that I am borrowing... I might just buy one, I think it is a fun addition to the cardio I'm already doing, especially since I'd be playing video games anyway! I want to get some weights soon, too.
