Hello :) + Recommended Calorie Intake Seems High?
Hi,

I am just starting to lose weight as its been out of control for the last 9 months. I am 43 years old, male, and 176cm tall. I am currently 90kg and targeting 70, or a very aggressive 67 if I can achieve it. I was 73 kilos for many, many years but with a little bit of exercise I dropped to the 70 mark once before a few years ago. At this stage I am relying on dietary changes mostly to achieve my goal and selected the "sedentary" setting. Although I plan to get on my bike at random times.

To get down to 70, fatsecret is recommending a daily intake of 2100 calories based on the "weight loss" and "sedentary" setting. That seems quite high, when you consider another online calculator suggests 1150 calories to lose 1kg per week or 1650 calories to lose 0.5kg per week. Check it here > http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html?ctype=metric&cage=43&csex=m&cheightfeet=5&cheightinch=10&cpound=160&cheightmeter=176&ckg=90&cactivity=1.2&printit=0&x=66&y=14

This is a huge difference. Over what time scale is fatsecret making its calculations. A year to lose it all ? There is no indication of time scales from what I can see.

Other than that I love the tool. Its awesome. Seems very comprehensive.

Regards
