following: A Lifestyle, Not a Diet!
performance: losing 1.0 lb a week

Well, I'm 36, married 14 yrs, mother of 3...two girls 7 & 4, and a little 22mo boy.

I'm a massage therapist, and I love it! I love swimming, fishing, playing outside, and puzzle games. I get addicted to books if I allow myself, and I love a good action movie, off-the-wall comedies like Blazing Saddles (Mel Brooks, and Jim Henson are two of my many heroes). I gained 85-90lbs total in 14yrs, and they're going to come off. I'm tired of living like this. I have started walking, and I feel great. I didn't have a horribly unhealthy lifestyle, but enough to get where I am now. I don't believe in diets because they never last. I believe in order to get healthy and keep the weight off, you need to change your whole outlook on life and how you're living it. So that's what I'm doing.

Ok, found my measuring tape, so here goes nothing, though I really wish I would have done this three weeks ago...

I've learned from my coaches the highly unscientific rule of watching pee color--dark means I need more water, light means I'm pretty well hydrated.

I also agree with this, this is exactly what I have been doing for awhile now, (aside from the last few weeks when I've sloughed off) and it's been working very well for me too.

Wii games
I am looking for some good Wii games that will give me a great cardio workout that would equal a 20-30 minutes power walk. I'm looking for some different ideas to get in my cardio when I can't get to the treadmill, and we all know how fun running in place...isn't. I have Wii Fit Plus, but you can only use that everyday so long before you have to change it up a bit...any suggestions?

Confession Time...what's your secret?!?!?!?
Secretly? There are many reasons why...pretty much what everyone else listed.
1. Vanity, I like compliments as much as the next person, and it's been a long, long time since I've had any from anyone besides hubby and kids. It feels really, really good to hear them now.

2. Work, I want to do barefoot massage, and there are certain weight and strength and flexibility requirements for this. I'm keeping this to myself for several professional and personal reasons.

3. Health, that's a given. I noticed when holding my son one day my fingers were turning purple. BIG motivator there.

4. I don't want to be the clumsy, heavy person that's out with friends. I don't want only the old guys to ask me to dance. Even though I'm married, I still would like to know I'm noticed by someone other than my hubby.

5. Family history...I won't be that either, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: if I want my kids to be healthy, I have to show them how not tell them.

When do you record foods- before/during/after eating?
I usually record after I eat. Sometimes I'll play around with numbers and plans ahead of time, but I don't snack all day anymore, and I have never been a huge portion eater anyway so I normally don't have issues staying within my limit.
