Those stubborn last 10lbs + HIIT versus steady state training

Stop with the protein bars and any other granola bars. No more cereals either! This helped me.. I also "carb cycled". Doing that now to lost my last few pounds and its working.
Frankly, I agree.

Lent
I'm not particularly religious, but I'm making the commitment to giving up meat, and any sweets(chocolate, candy, diet soda/soda, etc) for Lent.

Who's new? This gal right here.
AnaOM: You betcha! If you need extra support, I'm here for ya.
Erika2633: I rethought the grapefruit diet after reading that(also, it doesn't taste too good to eat for an extended period of time..). Thanks for your input! I'll definitely be hittin' the gym hard.
Also, I'm definitely going to record as much as I humanly can(as long as I don't forget). I'll be downloading the app next week once I get my new phone, so it'll make it easier!
Thank you, again!

Insanity?
I actually have the Insanity workout "collection" I suppose you'd call it, but haven't started it yet. I realized that yeah, at first it'll be extremely intimidating(considering my lack of being in shape) - but I think I can do it! It'll be hard, and exhausting - but so worth it in the end.
I think I'm going to be throwing that into my weekly routine.
Thanks everyone for posting your feedback!

Belly...
koffeebean7 wrote:
I agree with everyone here and here are a few more tips: Muscle burns fat as we know. Overall cardio/HIIT will definitely help, but also targeting abs will increase muscle thereby reducing some belly fat. Cut out all sugar, refined starches, and eat smaller meals more frequently.
A lot of times belly fat is caused by stress. And we are all under stress in our everyday lives. Increased cortisol levels (released by the adrenal glands in time if stress) cause your body to prepare for the next "crisis" by increasing blood sugar levels, the increased blood sugar then stresses the pancreas to release more insulin ("the fat hormone"
, causing hunger, and storing fat (primarily in the abdomen/hip area). A vicious cycle it is.
But healthy and regular eating, exercise (reduces cortisol levels and increases endorphins), sleep, and deep breathing exercises will help to reduce the frustrating abdominal fat.
I really appreciate this post; I've been mind-boggled with finding any useful suggestions for this "problem area", well up until now that is.
Thank you!
