Not a surprise. I let the holidays come and go with minimal activity. I did walk and hike, but it was not enough to counteract the bad eating.
Adding to this, I did get a Dexa Body scan last Saturday. Results were consistent with what I expected. I'm currently at 34% body fat which does put me above average and into the "overweight" zone. At the time of the scan, they showed me as 170 lbs. That morning my scale read about 168, so now we have an idea of how accurate my scale is. I'll continue to use it, and record the weight it shows.
Despite my body fat %, I have almost no visceral fat. This is a very good thing, as that is the type of fat that can be a risk for health problems. My fat is pretty evenly distributed, with the percentage of fat to lean body mass pretty consistent overall. This is also expected; I'm pretty good at gaining or losing weight all over without a noticeable difference.
My baseline metabolism is about 1458 calories - which is pretty spot on to what I expected. This is what I'm burning just to stay alive. I should try not to consistently eat less than that otherwise the weight I lose could be muscle due to starving my body.
My T score was also extremely good, 2.2 and 1.8 age adjusted. Which is very good considering "normal" is -1. This means my bones density is great - probably all those weights!
There is one other measurement that I can't remember right now, but it meant that my overall body condition was very good, and above average. I guess I'm "fit and fat"! This number does degrade as we age, so it's important for me to keep up my activities, but I'm at a good staring point.
Overall message: yeah I'm a bit fluffy right now, but 3 weeks of bad eating and not working out didn't negate ALL the progress over the past year. I've stuck to my diet for the most part this week, and already seeing an improvement.
