I am a 40 year old woman with rheumatoid arthritis. Over 15 years ago, I began a treatment regimen using chemotherapy and steroid agents. I gained 40 pounds in 3 months and became so discouraged that I not only haven't lost it, I have added 60 + more pounds to it! I'd like to be healthier in my 40's than I was in my 20's and 30's. I'm going to start small and really watch what I eat and make small strides at being more active. Small progresses in small intervals equal big change, right? I'm hoping that by altering my eating and exercise habits to something that I can see myself indefinitely doing, that in a few years, the weight will not only be off but will permanently stay off.
