Almost 60, looking towards retirement, currently working as a church business administrator in New Jersey. No husband, no kids, no pets, no plants, no living thing depends on me (or enables me).
Card-carrying Presbyterian, sing in the choir and serve on committees. Qualified massage therapist (=kneadywoman).
Likes: computer games, word games, travel, photography, murder mysteries and Shakespeare.
Dislikes: yard work
Previously successful on Weight Watchers, but one broken heart later regained every darn pound. Struggling with compulsive eating; no solution yet, but considering a therapist and/or Overeaters Anonymous. Would like to hear from anyone who has overcome compulsive eating, or anyone who has to lose at least 40 pounds or 25% of their weight to get to a healthy BMI.

attending a conference
Any special advice out there for conventions and conferences when your meals are planned for you? I have a 5-day conference coming up, and I'm drading the food challenges. I can probably manage raisin bran and skim milk at the breakfast bar, but otherwise I'm sure there won't be lite alternatives to lunch and dinner, and few opportunities to get exercise. I've lost 11 pounds and I don't want to gain it all back!Sad

Butter?!
I love butter, but I can tolerate i-cant-believe-its-not-butter LIGHT, which is 2 points per tablespoon.
