Happily (well....about 99.6% of the time) married mother of 3 fantastic boys. I come from a family where one side is tall and skinny and the other is short and dumpy, out of the 4 children my parents had I was the only one to inherit the short and dumpy genes, unfortunately over the past 7yrs due to ill health of myself, and then the hubby, these damn genes have been left to their own devices and have been using my body as a play park, resulting in a weight gain! I have decided now is as good a time as any to try and reign everything in a bit and educate myself better so I can be healthier all over and be a better role model to my children (and on a more selfish note I also want to look and feel better about myself).

I need to change my physical activity.
When your on the screen to input your food, go to the bottom of the page and there is a little bit called Day Summary, click on the little box that has your RDI total for the day and it'll take you to the page your looking for.

Need a little motivation...
Thanks Chris, yesterday the hubby brought me a thingy (yes I do believe that is the technical term for it lol) for my bike that will monitor my speed, distance, average calorie burn etc.....we all went out last night and managed a top speed of 13.8mph, unfortunately I didn't take note of the distance we travelled but I can say it wasn't that far as my 7yr old's legs couldn't cope lol, I can't wait to try it on my own Smile

Welcome and congratulations on quitting smoking and cutting back on the McDonalds, just to re-cap what everyone is saying you don't have to do exercise video's but I would strongly urge you to do something, anything, be it walking, cycling or dancing to your favourite tunes! Not only is exercise in some form beneficial to your health but it will also help you stay on track as a non-smoker.

I quit smoking 9 weeks ago today and being able to get out on my bike to try and ride as fast as I could (just like I used to when I was a kid lol) really helped to overcome the cravings, when I first started I couldn't go too fast for long and it felt like my lungs were burning but now I've noticed I can go a little faster (probably still not as fast as when I was a kid but I'm at an age where I remember how much it hurts to fall off a bike lol), and am able to go over 3 x's the original distance and my lungs still feel intact, I can't wait to reach the stage where my lungs should be nearly the same as someone who never smoked!

When you first start any kind of activity it will feel strange but persevere trough this and you will start to notice a difference in how you feel/look/stamina, the most important thing is to have fun with whatever your chosen form of activity is.

Good results? or No results? That is the question!
Hi, I've been doing this for 8days, I took my body measurements at the start and so far I have not lost either weight or inches....but...I feel better in myself and the hubby has noticed I "hold" myself better, I'm hoping it's just going to take me a while to sort myself out Smile
