Low Carb/High Fat Diet
You might want to take a look at the Atkins diet. I saw Fathead as well, and the principles from Atkins were used there.

Atkins suggests something around 60% fat/25%protein/15%net carbs, at least during induction - these figures can vary. The fat can be closer to 70% as well. Net carbs per day sound be around 20 net carbs, during the first two weeks of induction.

HTH - I really enjoyed that documentary as well.

Inflammation
I think the pain relievers are a good idea, but I really wanted to improve my joint health. So I think the addition of healthy oils is important (coconut oil & Omega 3's). Treat the problem, not just the sympton. Oh, and I am actually taking MSM & Chondroitin as well. Just my opinion.

I also have issues with taking Ibuprofen - so I can't take that.
