Seconding Ingria on this. The best way to burn calories is to find something active you enjoy doing and do it. Getting fit should be about a long-term change, not just losing weight quickly.

Nut Butters
PB2 sounds good - per their website: 2 tablespoons has 5g carbs, 2g fiber, and 1g sugar. Even the chocolate version isn't bad - 6g carbs, 1g fiber, and 3g sugar.
Ordering some tonight.

How far have you come?
No idea what I weighed in February 11. Based on how many inches I've lost, I estimate I weighed 320-330 lbs in November 2010.
I'm down to under 255 right now. It no longer hurts to get up in the morning (well, sometimes it still does - but it's a different kind of soreness). I'm running 5ks, bike-riding to work every day, and feeling much younger than my age.
Like kingkeld said, life is good now. My wife and I are extremely active. I think the best part for me is that not only are we taking more trips and vacations, we plan those trips around what we can do rather than what we can see. I just picked up a new tent, and we'll be tent-camping the end of this month for the first time in 12 years. We're watching the weather in March for our first chance to kayak. April, I'm running a 5k mud run/adventure race. May and June is a road trip to Arizona, with lots of hiking planned. And September is a 68-mile bike ride. Life is definitely good.

What do all the healthiest diets have in common?
1 and 4 - Not a problem, already doing this.
3 - Had to think about this. But since I realized beer is fermented, count me in.
2 - Uhhhh... would need a lot of convincing for this.

Should sugar be considered toxic?
liv001 wrote:
So Erika what are you trying to say? There really is a lot of sugar in a lot of products. That is fact. Sugar has no nutritional value beyond adding energy - that is also a fact. And if no one bought any of those products (like you) they would not be there.
So obviously people do buy a lot of sugar
The question is how aware are they of how nutrtionally dead this ingredient is -
Most people I know that read labels only look for calories and fat because they are not really thinking sugar can be an issue

To piggyback on this, look at SlimFast. Only 220 calories but 34 grams of sugar! Do the math - well over 50% of the calories in a SlimFast shake are empty, nutritionally void calories.
In what universe does someone have to live for this to be healthy? Yet people have been convinced that cutting calories is the way to health and look - SlimFast has only has 220 calories!
