After not fitting into some slacks a few months ago, I decided that it was time to do something. First on the list was to run a 10k. Next, lose 25 pounds. I figure running would take care of some of that, but I need to also watch what I eat. At the end of January, I stopped drinking cokes. Went from about 3 a day to 1 or so a week. I'm trying to drink 100oz of water daily. Some days are better than others.

Hello from uber hot Austin, Texas
Hi everyone,

Just found this site via the NYT article on weight loss iphone apps. I'm looking to lose about 25 pounds and to run in next years 10K. As a kid and young adult, I never had an issue with weight. Now that I'm 38, I'm finding it a bit harder to exercise and weight. I suspect some of it is motivation in conjunction with a busy professional work life.

I think I can do this. I'm ready for the challenge. I just hope my body is.
