How Often Do you weigh yourself?
First thing every morning before I shower. I find this helps me monitor better and keep me accountable as if I have gone over in Calories or Carbs the day prior it is usually reflected on the scales.

Thanks Divorcee and you are absolutely 100% correct, it is all about maintaining focus for the long run, we all slip up, we all have bad days, that is why I find the food diary so helpful as it really makes me think about every single think I put in my mouth and keeps me accountable. If I have to use one for the rest of my life I will because, this time, when I lose the weight, it will be gone for GOOD!! Best of wishes with your 8lbs Smile

Thanks guys for the welcome. I am lucky that my mother is actually a fitness trainer so I have access to a wealth of knowledge from her and yes, I agree, light weights (for want of a better term) definitely are the way to go to get real changes to your physique happening; and they burn those nasty little critters we call calories too! Smile I REALLY need to increase my cardio fitness too though and this is really important health wise (not just physique wise); any cardio (indoor, outdoor, weight bearing or otherwise) is good for you especially if you know how to use the equipment you have; I am good at pushing myself when indoors (bike, ellyptical etc) so can use them to my benefit - a lot of people will only use them on a 'comfortable' setting and wonder why they never get results! Walking is definitely the absolute BEST for cardio though isn't it! I got so fit 18 months ago, just from walking, it is a great feeling - I find it harder now with a 3.5yr old as he is getting to the stage of not wanting to sit in the pram for 40-60 mins at a time (most days)whereas when he was little he loved it - I need to find a few different routes where we can stop at a part after about 30 mins lol Smile

Hi all,

Happy Friday 13th.
Have struggled with yo-yo weight my whole life. 18 months ago I lost a heap through watching what I ate and exercise, it found me though! So now I am starting the process AGAIN. It has been a few months and I have known that I needed to do it but it was only this Tuesday that I finally got to the enough is enough point (where I need to get to) and found this website as a result. I must say this is actually the easiest site/app I have ever used for this purpose and I am loving it. I need the food diary to keep me accountable and focused. Whilst I haven't started back into my exercise regime yet I have managed to lose 1.7kg in 4 days which is very motivating - I know that initial results are usually always awesome and am not naive in thinking I can continue at that rate but it is certainly a good feeling to see those numbers plummeting. My perfect weight would be 65kg but I think my realistic goal should be 70kg which leaves me with around 13kg left to lose. My plan is to commence my exercise regime gradually from next week as I lead a really busy life and don't exactly enjoy exercise it is easy to put off. I have ellyptical and exercise bike at home so plan to start there - definitely need to increase my fitness before I take on anything more; I can REALLY notice how unfit I have become Sad
Anyway lovely to 'meet' everyone, best of luck on your journeys.Very Happy
