I've been in editorial/advertising for over 10 years, so TOO MUCH SITTING. Biggest challenge: unconcious eating. I've been fighting weight and lack of lean tissue for since I was a kid. I actually weighed my "goal" weight when I was in the 5th grade! Back then I was nearly my adult height (5' 7.5") and had ZERO muscle, which = blob. My parents, in a rare burst of caring, took me to the pediatrician who put me on my first diet (awww), and I lost 22lbs. but it didnt stay lost, as you'll see if you hang in there long enough.

I did get down to the low 130s in my late teens/early 20s (and looked anorexic), but forget about that after having 3 kids. My Italian/German genes took over again, and I went up to 180+ while pregnant with my last child. Then my base weight went back to the 150s where it got stuck for the longest time. For a few years I was a size 6 again, but I was extremely stressed and barely ate. That is NOT healthy, obviously.

To combat my natural propensity to store fat, I have been working out for a good 20 years. I shudder to think what I would look like if I didn't. Thankfully, I LOVE to exercise. I know, atypical. I think it's b/c I realize that it's my only hope to battle the fat cells that were created LONG ago as a child.

WORKOUTS:
Right now, I'm doing some KILLER Pilates, by Jenifer Kries http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_i_10?ie=UTF8&rs=&keywords=Perfect%20Mix&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3APerfect%20Mix%2Ci%3Advd
Workout/dp/B00065BEOA/ref=sr_1_49?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1203626762&sr=1-49

I also own an elliptical for when I just don't feel like getting it together to do a DVD.

The Scale Game
I thought my scale might be storing the old weight reading and got back on to discover that it was 6 pounds off. I had a dr's appt that day and it confirmed the reading, so no blaming the scale. I'm blaming the fact that I work in an advertising dept where I work writing about food all day on the other side of the break area where people make food all day long!!!!! Ugh ...
