hi-i'm 40 yrs. old. i am married w/ 1 son,age 10 yrs (going on 15,haha), and i'm in the mood to start taking better care of myself and my body. i've let this go for too long. it started by getting pregnant at 29 yrs.old and my metabolism took a dive. i used to exercise a lot, or i thought i did, but now,10 yrs later, i'm really getting serious & finding that motivation again. the reason i chose atkins is because it gives me more power to just live, and not worry about my next meal. i've never felt that way on any other diet b4. also, since my family is getting older, i really don't need to be in the house as much, and so i'm bonding w/ my dog on our daily walks. he keeps me motivated, and running! i've noticed lately that i have a lot more energy, and i can stay up later, instead of crashing on the couch after work every day...now, if i can just keep it up, and start seeing the weight go down, i'll feel like a brand new "girl"!!!

Nutrisystem Tastes Really Bad
my doctor told me that weight watchers is the best program for losing and keeping the weight off.not to mention, the food is probably as normal as you can get.after trying atkins for the last many years, i have finally got on the boat w/ weight watchers, and i am really liking what i am experiencing! it's pretty fun using their recipes to make desserts, etc, and knowing that it is fat-free really puts my mind at ease. i feel like i am doing good to my family when i prepare a meal that is the low fat version of what we like to eat. i hope this helps you decide...

gyro meat
i live in iowa & i buy it at a grocery store-Fareway-at the meat counter. you have to ask for it, and it comes in slices like bacon. it also may come w/ dressing, but i never buy that. i eat it plain.

Endulge Bars
be careful becuz they are addictive!!! i know, i was there, and it did stall my weight loss. eventually, i just fell off the wagon and quit atkins altogether. now, i'm back on AND staying away from the sweets(atkins sweets) as much as possible. i think it'd be okay every once in a while when you feel like splurging, like a weekend, or a very rough day...i hope this helps you, it did me. good luck!

gyro meat
a new twist to eating bacon. i just started frying up gyro meat as a snack when i'm at work. i fry it up in the morning and take it w/ me. it fills me up and tastes wonderful. i do not use any sauce, you don't need it! sometimes, i eat a piece of string cheese w/ it, and i'm good for another couple of hours!!! also, someone once told me about chicken boullion,i love this idea, it works good and fills me up in between meals.

i'm back!
well, i'm back on atkins. i'm really doing pretty good considering all of the food i'm used to eating on a daily basis. it still shocks me that if i really work at it, i can make good decisions for myself and my body...it's a lot of work, tho, and a lot of patience not going to the fridge whenever i want to! i need to stock my fridge and cupboards better, i think, so i don't fall off. any suggestions??? i'm on my 4th day so far..................
