following: The GI diet
performance: losing 0.1 lb a week
I am a physical education major who switched gears and went into information technology. With the addition of children, a partner who was not physically active and a busy career life, fitness was put on the back burner. I kept eating the way I did when I was twenty and became much more sedentary, resulting in about 5 lbs a year. At one point I was 258 lbs and not happy about it. I have been successful in getting fitness back into my life and have found that body weight is certainly 80%+ about what a person eats. Exercise will help you burn and firm, but will not take the weight off as much as proper calorie intake. I have been successful in getting back down to 195 lbs over the last couple years. I followed the GI diet program and made fitness a priority again in my life. I have been successfully holding at 195 for about 8 months, but would really like to test the waters at 187 lbs as I believe I could get close to a six pack and it is in the top range for my ideal BMI. I am a huge believer in the GI program and now find it quite easy to eat within its guidelines. However, from time to time I do have a bad day or week and I allow myself to enjoy it!
