I'm still not tracking calories but I am eating smart. A good balance of veggies and protein. I'm still juicing with organic veggies in the Vitamix. Not a true "juicer" so it is a bit grainy in texture but it is delicious. Typically Romaine lettuce, spinach, carrot, zucchini, celery, apple with skin, ginger, and I usually throw in a bonus few blackberries and blueberries or strawberries. I put in 4 pieces of pineapple and squeeze a lemon into it to help with the taste. I have this for two meals and have a hard boiled egg for snack and a few almonds here and there. I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, especially when I feel hungry. My evening meal typically consists of chicken or ground beef with a vegetable or two. A small (1/2 to 3/4 cup) of Cheerios with a tiny bit of whole milk for a treat (reward) about an hour after supper.

Adding it up in my head I'm at around 1800-2200 calories a day the last 3-4 weeks. For my height of 6'7" and starting at 356 lbs. with my weight goals I would be at 4600-4800 calories a day to just maintain my weight, so the calorie reduction from my diet plan mixed with my exercise and weight lifting plan seem to be working. Once I hit 299 I will add a few more calories and lose the weight a little slower. Most likely I will follow the Mediterranean Diet.

The increase in energy and mobility has been both noticeable and appreciable. So, 22lbs came off pretty quickly with all of this in mind. The exercise is a critical part of it all. I'm burning 400-500 calories in the 90-minutes of exercise I get 4-5 days per week. I take every Sunday off and usually Wednesday to let my body recover. I didn't think I'd love the weights as much as I do. And the Rogue ECHO bike I purchased has been kicking my tail!

I'm hoping I can stick with it! Being over 50 and wanting to stay healthy is quite the motivator now. That and I really want to look good for my wife of 26-years! She has always been fit! My doctor said that he wants me at 270 with my height and frame. He then said, "But, if your weight just starts with a "2" that would be great!" LOL

Onward to 299 and then to 270!
