Eating at Night
Have you ever considered that you have a night eating disorder? Some GPs don't know about it. You might even have a sleep disorder, depending on when you eat and how. I have both an eating disorder that switches my hunger to night, and a sleep-eating disorder where I wake at night and eat semi-consciously or unconsciously. I went for a sleep study and told my sleep neurologist about stopping a Weight Watchers meeting cold by asking a question about sleep-eating or night eating and he didn't laugh but told me it was a real disorder and that they have medications for it. I take medications now for the sleeping disorder and for the eating disorder, I make a snack for myself that is within my goals for the day and make it easy to get to. I find that,since my eating is opportunistic, I eat that snack that is easy to get, if I do wake, and go back to sleep. I also eat lighter in the morning when I have less problem controlling myself and eat a little more in the evening.

Bread is the hardest! How can I ask my family to throw out bread? I do use the low calorie/carb bread from Orowheat. That helps.Smile
