I'm in my last semester of my Bachelor of Journalism and am currently Co-Editor-In-Chief of the student newspaper. Between these two responsibilities, I'm incredibly busy. I spend most of my spare time with my good friends or my darling boyfriend.

I spent 3 months in Africa last summer, during which time I ate a lot of rice and gained weight. I returned to Canada and, after several months of denial, had to recognize that being in Africa wasn't my problem.

I joined this site to get a better idea of what was in the foods that I eat and to help keep me on track for being healthy. After 7 years as a vegetarian that rarely ate vegetables, I decided it was time for a change in my diet and lifestyle.

My weight was actually 147 when I joined the site, so that's messed up my weight history a bit. Ah well. My focus is on the long-term...

Filling vegetarian snacks and food
Hey gang, I was wondering what your favourite, healthy vegetarian foods are that fill you up! I've been a vegetarian for 7 years and now that I'm not eating an obscene amount of carbs and high-fat food, I find that I'm constantly hungry within an hour of eating. What do other vegetarians use to stay healthy but feel full and satisfied?

Please, reassure me that there are actually people on this website who are more concerned with their overall health than with counting exact calories... I'm beginning to wonder if this website hurts people more than it helps. I don't want to be comparing myself to members who eat 900 calories a day.
